Editor's Report.

From January 1, 1999 through December 31, 1999, the Editorial Office received 287 new manuscript submissions. The following table lists the time in the editorial process for the 206 manuscripts submitted during 1999 for which the authors received a first decision by March 31, 2000.

At their November 1999 meeting, the Board of Trustees of the Southern Economic Association appointed me for a second term as Editor to run from July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2003. I am delighted for the opportunity to continue my work with the Journal and would like to thank the Board for their support.

At their April 2000 meeting, the Board of Trustees of the Southern Economic Association appointed Professor Kevin Grier of the University of Oklahoma and Professor Kent Kimbrough of Duke University to new terms as Co-Editors to run from July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2003.
