T he articles in this edition share a common thread:  ey all examine
culture and the way it can be applied to understand members of our
community. I hope you fi nd them useful in your research and practice, as
you seek to apply confl ict resolution concepts and practices across broad
cultural contexts.
Coming soon to the pages of CRQ , leaders in our fi eld will discuss
important and timely topics, such as how we can use our skills and pro-
cesses to bridge political divides as well as new practice areas. If you would
like to contribute to this eff ort, feel free to contact me at the email address
