EDITOR'S FOREWORD Bright Lights, Big Changes

There seems to be a light at the end of our pandemic tunnel. Courts and law offices are reopening and mask mandates are dropping. We're emerging into a new normal, with big changes in the way courts operate, law firms function, and life in general. Like it or not, we're living in interesting times.

Along those lines, we got some new faces on our supreme courts, marking some historic firsts. Here in California we welcome Justice Patricia Guerrero, the Golden State's first Latina high court justice. And in D.C. we welcome Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, our first female African-American SCOTUS Justice.
