EDC traces its roots to back to 1980, when it was incorporated as an Electrical Engineering firm, providing services throughout Alaska. In 1990, the firm moved into the log cabin on Fireweed Lane (homesteaded @ 1939).

In 1994, the firm added mechanical engineering capabilities, and adopted its current name.

EDC, Inc. is an Alaskan firm owned by two licensed Engineers: Kevin L. Hansen, P.E., a State of Alaska registered Mechanical Engineer, and John Faschan, P.E., a State of Alaska registered Electrical Engineer. The firm is also registered with the State of Alaska as a Professional Engineering Corporation.

EDC's project experience includes roadway lighting and signalization design, municipal water and wastewater plants, rural sanitation facilities, airports, schools, bulk fuel facilities and other commercial and industrial facilities.
