Back 70 years ago the GOP was blasting FDR for his "tax and spend" policies. Now Bush and company are running an irresponsible "borrow-and-spend, to hell with the debts" system. Paul Volcker, no dummy in such matters, says there is a 75 percent chance of our economic system blowing up within five years from debt, especially foreign ones. Makes sense to me. How can they have the guts to call themselves "conservative"?
