Easy for Coors to say.

How sad that Pete Coors, who was born into immense wealth and privilege, begrudges paying taxes to help the poor and powerless in our state, nation and world ("Pete Coors on tap," May). He also laments that others are willing to pay taxes for education, which is his example. Teachers, nurses, retail clerks, restaurant workers and the vast majority of his brewery workers effectively pay more than 15 percent of their wages in Social Security. They cannot avoid it. Yet he pays zero of this tax on his interest, dividends, trust funds and capital gains and, if he makes a million dollars a year in salary, he pays zero on $910,000 of it.
