PONZER -- Hyde County approved Rose Acre Farms' plan to build a $55 million egg farm that would house up to 4 million chickens and employ 125 workers. The Seymour, Ind.-based company has not set a timetable. The plan faces opposition from critics concerned about water pollution and odor.

KINSTON -- By September, Master-brand Cabinets, which makes kitchen and bathroom cabinets, will add 220 employees to the nearly 500 who work here.

KINSTON -- The Global TransPark will construct two buildings and possibly a third. A speculative warehouse--no tenant has been signed--and a maintenance-and-operations building will cost about $5.2 million.
