EARNEST SUMNER HAS SERVED THE FLORIDA HOUSE FOR 42 YEARS--the last 15 as sergeant-at-arms. So when he announced he would retire at the end of June, the House gave him an emotional send-off, with four standing ovations, a resolution honoring him, and a video of his many accomplishments.
