The early bird may catch the worm, but for humans, going to bed early and rising early don't seem to create a similar advantage. A study of more than 1,200 people over the age of 65 found that early risers were not better off socioeconomically, cognitively, or healthwise, indicates researcher Christopher Martyn of Southampton (England) University.
