Earlham College's challenging intellectual environment attracts a diverse group of students from 49 states and 52 countries. Although the 1,200 students come with a variety of motivations--academic, political, social, athletic, ethical and career-minded--they share a desire to make an impact on the world.

Academic Excellence--Students collaborate with Earlham faculty as peers on scholarly projects and research. Deeply committed to teaching, Earlham faculty provide a supportive environment and broad exposure to the liberal arts. Students engage in spirited interaction with classmates, faculty, new perspectives and ideas.

Values to Action--More than 72 percent of Earlham students study off-campus, gaining an understanding of other cultures and perspectives. Students also put their classroom knowledge into practice through volunteer service; in 2004-05, Earlham students donated nearly 44,000 hours to volunteer service.
