A. DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE ACT

In order to receive state grants or contracts of $50,000 or more, a grantee or contractor must certify that he or she will provide a drug-free workplace.¹ A drug-free workplace is achieved by:

1. publishing a statement that notifies employees that illegal drug activity is prohibited in an employee's workplace and that specifies the repercussions for violating the drug policy;

2. establishing a drug-free awareness program to inform employees about the dangers of drug abuse in the workplace, about the drug-free policy, available drug counseling or rehabilitation programs, and penalties for drug violations;
