Draexlmaier completes $42.7M expansion.

Automotive supplier Draexlmaier Group has completed a $42.7 million expansion of its existing manufacturing operations in Spartanburg County. The expansion creates 460 new jobs, according to the S.C. Department of Commerce.

A tier one supplier to the international automotive industry and headquartered in Germany, Draexlmaier manufactures interiors for automobiles and plastic components at its Duncan site. Opened in 1998, the facility has expanded three times, the last in 2015 when the company constructed a 184,000-square-foot production and logistics building, according to a news release.

The company's expansion in Duncan features additional equipment "to accommodate new automotive interior production demands by new and existing customers," the release said.
