Donek founder/president/lead engineer Sean Martin knew he wanted a career in snowboards from his days as a student at Wheat Ridge High School. Before graduating, he built his first snowboard after a day in the backcountry damaged his mass-produced Burton board. Later, as an under-grad at CU-Boulder, Martin crafted his curriculum with an end result in mind: designing high-end snowboards. ("I probably am one of the few individuals with a 'snowboard engineering' degree," he joked.)
