Much of what passes as news in the corporate media intentionally diverts the public mind from major problems of the day--and from the solutions. There's also an army of right-wing radio hosts, PR firms, and neocon think tanks deliberately downplaying ecological degradation in the interests of the ruling oiligarchy. I hope your readers are pressuring editors and station managers in the same manner that Rush Limbaugh's "dittoheads" do. I've found calling into AM radio talk shows to be an effective way to pass along information to large, politically active audiences, and to suggest alternative sources of information like World Watch. Limbaugh's screeners usually won't let dissenters through, but most regions have talk hosts with some integrity, and nationally...
