V-me, one of America's largest Spanish broadcast networks, premiered a powerful new documentary on July 10th at 8 pro (ET) Vivir en Libertad: Lucha Contra la Trata de Personas, featuring Ricky Mar[in and María Hinojosa, that addresses the issue of human trafficking.
The 30-minute documentary, a co-production between the Inter-American Development Bank (www.iadb.org) and the Ricky Martin Foundation (www.rickymartinfoundation.org), is narrated by the award-winning journalist María Hinojosa, host of V-me's La Plaza. In a special introduction, Ricky Martin addresses the complexities of this modern form of slavery. Vivir en Libertad: Lucha Contra la Trata de Personas covers the multi-layered issues of prevention, protection and prosecution of human trafficking. The documentary was made in response to the widely successful Call and Live, the first regional campaign against human trafficking in the Americas. The campaign promotes free and confidential phone lines for the prevention and reporting of human trafficking.
