Forbes Baker, a pillar of the Houston Chapter and 26-year member of FEI, was awarded the association's 2006 Distinguished Service Award at the Summit. Baker is controller of the Port of Houston Authority.

The award honors volunteer leaders who have made long-term contributions to FEI's development at the local and national level. Baker, a Houston resident, was selected for his extensive contributions to FEI on all levels. During his membership, he has served at the national level as FEI's Area Director (Southwest Region), Area Vice President (Southwest Region), 2004 Summit Chair and National Treasurer. Additionally, Baker was Houston Chapter President and has served on the following national board committees: audit, budget, finance and nominating.
