While I applaud your informative article on renewable energy in the September/ October issue ["A Bridge to the Renewable Energy Future"), I was very frustrated to see the smoky steel mill picture from Pittsburgh, which didn't indicate the vintage of the picture. The picture had to be at least 25 years old, since that steel mill closed in the early 1980s. The perpetuation of the stereotype of Pittsburgh as a smoky city does a great disservice to this transformed region. Pittsburgh has come a long way in cleaning up from its industrial past and has become a leader in the development and implementation of green technology.
