What is DiscoverE? formerly the National Engineers Week Foundation

We work year-round to do three things:

  1. Celebrate the engineering profession.

  2. Inspire and inform future generations to explore engineering via a vibrant and well-resourced pool of volunteers.

  3. Collaborate with 100 + partners to develop and deliver programs that represent the breadth of engineering.

    DiscoverE Educator Recognition

    DO you work with or know about an educator teaching in grades 6 through 12 who is inspiring tomorrow's innovation generation?

    Nominate him or her for a DiscoverE Educator Award.

    * Application Deadline: March 1.

    * Nomination applications are available after January 1.

    National Engineers Week Future City[R] Competition 2014

    Future City is a national, project-based learning experience in which students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades imagine, design, and build cities 150 years in the future. This year students will research the topic "Tomorrow's Transit: Design a way to move people in and around your city." Join us and celebrate Future City's 21 years of helping students and educators discover engineering:

    * Find a Future City program near you (futurecity.org) and volunteer to:

    --join a regional planning committee

    --mentor a team

    --judge a competition

    * Are you a Future City Alumnus/ae? Contact info@himrecity.org and tell us where you are now.

    New Faces of Engineering 2014

    Young engineers--up to age 30--who represent the best of the profession are featured in a national advertisement during Engineers Week. Nominations are accepted in the fall through Engineers Week sponsoring societies. Visit DiseoverE.org to meet past and current New Faces.
