Disciplinary actions.

As a result of an investigation of alleged violations of the Codes of Professional Conduct of the AICPA and/or state CPA societies, the following ethics case has been resolved by settlement agreement under the Joint Ethics Enforcement Program.

* James W. Kingery of Lubbock, Texas, admonished by the AICPA and the Texas Society of CPAs, effective Oct. 29, 2007.

As a result of decisions by hearing panels of the Joint Trial Board, the following members have had their AICPA memberships:--Terminated:

* Miguel A. Cabrera Jr. of Cooper City, Fla., effective Nov. 9, 2007.

--Suspended for two years:

* Paul Adest of Staten Island, N.Y., effective Dec. 6, 2007.

--Suspended for one year.

* George Cumpata of Elgin, Ill., effective Nov. 18, 2007.

As a result of acceptance of a guilty plea by the Joint Trial Board, in lieu of a hearing, the following member was admonished:

* Gary R. Purwin of New York, N.Y., effective Oct. 12, 2007.

Under the automatic disciplinary provisions of the Institute's bylaws, the following members have had their AICPA memberships:

--Terminated because of a final judgment of conviction for a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than one year:

* Martin Galuskin of East Brunswick, N.J., effective Oct. 19, 2007.

* Joseph J. Shew of West Chester, Pa., effective Oct. 19, 2007.

--Terminated following revocation of their CPA certificate, license and/or permit to practice by...
