El Dia de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) is actually an older holiday than Halloween, rooted in ancient Aztec traditions that honor the dead. Calaveras (skull masks) are a big part of the celebration. Bob Luna, one of the most prolific maskmakers in Denver, has made such masks since childhood.
