AH&LA International travelers' bill of rights draws ire from groups. Members of the travel industry are pointing out the flaws and the potential burdens imposed by the International Travelers Bill of Rights introduced in Congress. The proposed bill seeks to inform guests about the potential health and safety hazards of vacation destinations. "Our issue really just revolves around the feasibility of providing the information required. Our industry is simply not tracking any of the information they are seeking to capture outside the U.S. in a comprehensive way," said AHLA spokeswoman Lisa Costello. Dec 28, 2011

American Cruise Lines American Cruise Lines is offering Lewis & Clark theme cruises next year on the 120-passenger Queen of the West paddlewheeler on the Columbia and Snake rivers in the Pacific Northwest. The cruises, which begin in April, operate between Portland, Ore., and Clarkston, Wash., following the footsteps of the legendary explorers. Guided tours explore Lewis & Clark National and State Historic Park, including Fort Clatsop, Salt Works and Netul Landing. BNSF, Union Pacific Coalition touts value of rail projects to keep Calif. competitive. Projects such as BNSF's Southern California International Gateway plan are crucial to maintain Southern California's role as a key hub for international trade, particularly once the Panama Canal expansion is complete, according to the Jobs 1st Alliance. Breckenridge Ski Resort Breckenridge Ski Resort said that it will open Peak 9 terrain on Wednesday. It is also opening the Doubletree by Hilton Breckenridge and the new Maggie Deck in the Village base area. Canadian National, Canadian Pacific Class I's help fund Canada's USD307M Roberts Bank Rail Corridor project. BNSF, Canadian National and Canadian Pacific are among the private entities contributing funds to the Roberts Bank Rail Corridor Program, a USD307 million project meant to relieve congestion in areas of British Columbia.
