You've no doubt noticed by now that Government Finance Review has undergone a dramatic face lift since the last issue. What you see is the culmination of our efforts to modernize a publication that has served the public finance profession so well for nearly 20 years. While the look and feel of GFR have changed, our mission to bring you the latest innovations in state and local government finance has not.

With this new design, GFOA has created a product that matches the aesthetic appeal of the very best professional magazines. At the same time, we understand that no design can compensate for content. Indeed, it is the quality of the content that determines whether or not this publication is an effective tool for furthering GFOA's mission to promote the professional management of public financial resources.

We invite you to join us in this important endeavor. Our editorial philosophy has always been that Government Finance Review should be primarily written by GFOA members for other GFOA members. This sharing of ideas is what makes GFR one of the most important things we do at GFOA.
