Denver called out for dismal phone rank.

Denver has a lot to offer, but cell-phone performance is not on the list. Results of the latest RootMetrics report, released Aug. 1, put Denver at the bottom of the 125 most-populated U.S. markets for mobile speed. (Colorado Springs didn't fare much better in the speed category, coming in at No. 121.)

"All four carriers recorded median download speeds below 10.0 Mbps in Denver, and median upload speeds were even slower," the report said, referring to Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T Mobile.

In addition to ranking dead last in speed, the Mile High City ranked just one spot from the bottom - 124th - in data performance. RootMetrics' assessment of Denver took place from Feb. 11-18 and consisted of 20,419 tests of mobile network reliability, data speeds and data, voice...
