When it comes to games the entire family can enjoy, we turn to Hasbro, the Pawtucket, R.I., company with an array of offerings sure to please any age group. From enduring classics to updated favorites, there's something for everyone this season.

It's hard to improve on the original Sorry!, but the SpongeBob SquarePants edition ($19.99) brings the much-loved title character and his sea-dwelling chums into the action in this Game of Sweet Revenge. The play is the same as always, but the Bikini Bottom backdrop helps fans celebrate the 10th anniversary of the hit Nickelodeon show.

Boggle ($14.99) is another game we enjoyed as kids and now love to play with our own children. It's been fun to watch their progress in this game, as their spelling and vocabulary have improved over the years--and humbling to see what they come up with that we've missed. This latest version has been updated to feature an all-in-one compact case that holds and locks the letter dice into place. Players raise the lid, shake the cubes in the quiet compartment to set a new formation, and then close the top again. The built-in digital timer starts automatically and changes color as the clock ticks down from three minutes. Players race to create the most words unique from their opponents.

Connect 4 x 4 ($19.99) provides an intriguing twist on the classic game by providing a double-sided checker grid that allows up to four people to compete. Players drop their colored checker down one side of the framework and can score by connecting four in a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally on either side or by weaving in and out between the grids. The challenges of watching both sides of the board and trying to strategize against more than one opponent add a fresh dimension to an already appealing game.
