Defense Counsel Journal was published under the title Insurance Counsel Journal from 1934 (Volume 1) through 1986 (Volume 53) by the International Association of Insurance Counsel. The name of the organization was changed effective in 1987 to International Association of Defense Counsel and the name of the publication to Defense Counsel Journal. There was no change in the volume numbering system.
