This Issue of the Notre Dame Law Review is dedicated in memory of Associate Law School Dean Emeritus William O. McLean (1922-2013).
Known to all as "the Captain" because of his service in the U.S. Navy, Bill McLean came to the Law School as a temporary assistant to then-Dean (now Fr.) David Link. The Captain's assignment to the Law School was to be for six months initially; fortunately for the Law School, he stayed until his retirement in the mid-90s. After retirement, Bill remained very much part of the fabric of this Law...
