IN THIS ISSUE OF CONSERVATION MATTERS, WE share with you a momentous new CLF effort to promote habitat-based marine resources protection in the ocean waters off the shores of New England and eastern Canada. Pollution, overfishing and mining of the ocean floor have devastated our marine habitats, decimating valued species of fish and marine mammals. Although New England has seen partial recovery of some species over the past few years, others--like the North Atlantic right whale and the Atlantic cod--are in real danger.
