Deaf applicant? Know your ADA obligations.

If you don't know how you'd handle applicants with hearing impairments, get yourself educated before a court does it for you.

The ADA does not require applicants to disclose that they have a hearing impairment (or other disability) unless they will need a reasonable accommodation for the application process. It's wise to identify vendors of adaptive communications technology to call on if you need to interview hard-of-hearing applicants.
