The deadline for S.C. residents to register for Federal Emergency Management Agency assistance for uninsured or underinsured losses from Hurricane Florence has been extended to Dec. 5.

State homeowners, renters and business owners in Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Marion and Marlboro counties may apply for disaster assistance for losses occurring between Sept. 8 and Oct. 8 from the storm.

Long-term, low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration also may be available to cover losses not fully compensated by insurance. Applicants may apply...
