Data. A Poem.

DATA IS A THING WE ALL NEED TO THINK ABOUT NOW.

Our social media accounts have access to it. Our Apple Watches and FitBits track it. Our Google Homes and Amazon Alexas record it. Our Nests and our SimpliSafes collect it.

Out there in the world are servers and servers filled with our data. And that data can be used for good or for evil.

If we've created Pandora's box, then we are also opening it. Slowly, carefully, as though it's covered in the finest crepe wrapping paper and we are recording the whole process for an ASMR video.

What will we find, I wonder? That our increased resting heart rates will cause our health insurance premiums to rise? That our home speakers will hear our whispered conversations and use them against us? That our security systems will know when we're home and conspire to alert potential intruders as to our whereabouts?

Or will we discover something more beautiful? That monitoring our heart rates will keep us from developing disease. That our speakers will be able...
