A little more than a year on from Edward Snowden's famous National Security Agency leaks, a study by the file-transfer service WeTransfer finds that data capture continues to be at the top of Americans' minds. People increasingly are concerned about how companies are using data that they share freely online, yet they are quite comfortable snooping on others both online and off:

* 72% state they are worried about what companies do with that information.

* 57% see data collection as an invasion of privacy.

* 33% are equally as worried about what kind of information companies are selling, as they are "annoyed" someone is making a profit off of them.

* 23% see having to share their data as restricting their freedom.

* 31% are concerned about governmental monitoring.

* 22% state they would not use a service if it sold their information, with those over age 55 most likely to avoid a service selling their information. Having said that, 10% indicate they would not mind if they at least saw a kickback...
