The British Ministry of Defense has been supplied with five portable, abrasive waterjet cutting systems for use in explosive ordnance disposal (EOD). The system, known as Excalibur, was developed by Alba Industries Ltd., in close cooperation with Diajet Limited. Excalibur's head manipulator is remote controlled, which enables a single approach to be made to the ordnance, achieving core access. This reduces the risk to personnel.
