Customer service on the decline.

Jeff Rundles nailed it again ("Can I get a hotel with that burrito?" July). Our country's rapidly declining corporate customer service is not only apparent when dealing with our airlines; I've experienced it in spades with Macy's, Home Depot and others as well.

It's no wonder these companies and others are struggling to correct their sinking stock prices and profitability here and around the country. There's something missing--I'm not sure whether to call it caring, or appreciation, or just plain old civility. But...
