Luxury case goods and upholstery manufacturer Chaddock Furniture Workroom, which says its revenue has grown at double-digit rates over the last two years, promoted President Andrew Crone to the CEO slot and named industry veteran Kevin Ward as president. Ward joined the Morganton-based furniture company after most recently working as chief operating officer at Hickory-based Baker Interiors Group.

Chaddock is a North Carolina furniture-industry success story: In 2004, Morganton furniture execs Darrell Ferguson and Fred Copeland bought Guy Chaddock &. Co., a Bakersfield, Calif.-based company that was planning to close after 48 years in business. They moved operations to Morganton, and Chaddock now makes about 90% of its products in Burke County. It employs nearly 200 and is planning to expand staff by about 10% in "multiple key roles" in coming months, Crone says. It also recently added a showroom in High Point at the industry's October market.
