High Point University honored those who gave years of service to the university through its annual Retirement Recognition Luncheon, held May 4 in the Wilson School of Commerce. This year's event honored HPU faculty members Dr. Linda N. Curtis and Dr. Marion "Butch" Hodge Jr.

Dr. Curtis came to HPU in 1995 as an assistant professor of biology. She was promoted to associate professor in 2001. During her time here, she has mentored numerous undergraduate biology students, and has served as the biology safety officer.
