Crowley Maritime Corp. was awarded a state contract to administer the Ocean Ranger Program, part of a new law to monitor cruise ship practices. The state Department of Environmental Conservation awarded the contract, which is valued at up to $4 million per fiscal year. Crowley will recruit, hire, train and organize the logistics of placing up to 35 Ocean Rangers aboard cruise ships this summer to monitor wastewater discharges and compliance with other pollution requirements for the state.
