Left-hander Moeen Ali was pulling England out of trouble with an unbeaten half-century at tea after West Indies made early inroads in the second session on the opening day of the second Test here Thursday.

Moeen's bold 55 not out formed the basis of the visitors' revival as they reached 172 for six at the interval, at the Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium.

He was partnered by wicketkeeper Ben Foakes unbeaten on 32, the pair having shared a 77-run, unbroken seventh wicket stand to pull their side around from 93 for six.
