However, like many brands today, it has moved way beyond those simple days into the modern world of technical advancement. Two of its holiday offerings--the Digital Light Designer and Marker Airbrush --prove the point.

The Crayola Digital Light Designer ($49.99) lets kids create using colored LED technology on a 360[degrees] domed drawing surface. There are three different modes of play: dynamic freehand drawing, animation creation, and interactive games. Employing a digital light stylus, users can select colors and line width to begin free-drawing. Up to 50 creations can be saved in the gallery, thus allowing animated effects to be added to the drawing later--such as spinning, melting, and color change. Moreover, there are 50-plus interactive games built in, including maze races, animated connect the dots, minor draw, and memory contests. It is recommended for ages six and up and requires four D batteries, which are not included.
