When you think Crayola, you think crayons and coloring books--and you would not be wrong. However, like many brands today, it has moved way beyond those simple days into the modern world of technical advancement. Two of its holiday offerings--the Digital Light Designer and Marker Airbrush --prove the point.

The Crayola Digital Light Designer ($49.99) lets kids create using colored LED technology on a 360[degrees] domed drawing surface. There are three different modes of play: dynamic freehand drawing, animation creation, and interactive games. Employing a digital light stylus, users can select colors and line width to begin free-drawing. Up to 50 creations can be saved in the gallery, thus allowing animated effects to be added to the drawing later--such as spinning, melting, and color change. Moreover, there are 50-plus interactive games built in, including maze races, animated connect the dots, minor draw, and memory contests. It is recommended for ages six and up and requires four D batteries, which are not included.
