COVID-19 Is Moving Up the Ladder.

As Americans wonder and worry about how long COVID-19 will last, AssistedLivingFacilities.org has launched a daily tracker on Corona virus Versus Other Causes of Death, using White House projections and data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Coronavirus is expected to become the No. 1 leading cause of death in the U.S. this month, and also is projected to be either the seventh or 16th deadliest event in American history, including pandemics, wars, influenza, and other leading causes of death.

Here are a few key findings:

On March 31, COVID-19 was the third-leading cause of death. Heart disease (1,774) and cancer (1,641) were first and second, respectively.
