URUGUAY adopted measures aimed at encouraging private investment, providing a framework of security and promoting a policy that is particularly favorable to foreign investment.

An investment law passed more than a decade ago established the judicial and legal foundation for investment initiatives in Uruguay. The law states that it is in the national interest to promote and protect local and foreign initiatives. Foreign investors can pursue any type of activity under the same terms and conditions as local investors and the same taxes rules apply to both.
