Corrigendum

The authors of the published paper entitled “Politico-Historical Contingencies, Intellectual Property

Rights, and Economic Performance Across Countries: A Simultaneous Equation System Perspective”

(Bhaduri et al., 2015) wish to note that the following paragraph in page 117 stands deleted:

“P

denotes the reduced form for m parameters. If the equation is just identified, then it contains exactly

M-1 linear equations for the same number of unknown in coefficients like b. This method has been referred

to as Indirect Least Squares (ILS). However, if the equation is overidentified then there are more equations

than unknown parameters. One can arbitrarily select any M1 columns of Pto for solve for bPof P.In

the second stage, least square is applied to the structural equation using the predicted values of Ys.”

Along with this paragraph, the footnote no. 18 also stands deleted.

Apologies for the inconvenience due to this inadvertent mistake.
