In the article "Tax Planning for Elderly Clients" (August 2008), the amount of the tax saving ($3,733) in Example 2 on page 524 was calculated incorrectly. The amount of the tax saving in the example should have been $4,550, calculated as follows:

7.5% of $50,000 AGI = $3,750

$20,000 total medical expenses less

$3,750 = $16,250

$16,250 deduction x 28% tax rate

= $4,550 tax savings
