A. Purpose of This Pamphlet

This document describes the core health, environment, and safety (HES)

responsibilities which apply to all employees and contractors in conducting their

day-to-day activities while working at Elf Atochem North America, Inc.’s

facilities or operations. In addition, this document is designed to communicate Elf

Atochem’s commitment to HES protection and performance as defined in Elf

Atochem’s Health, Environment, and Safety Policy and briefly describes the

relevant Elf Atochem policies and procedures.

B. Scope of Elf Atochem’s Health, Environment, and Safety

Programs

Elf Atochem’s HES programs include policies, procedures, standards, and

guidance materials designed to fulfill Elf Atochem’s commitment to health,

environment, and safety and comply with applicable legal requirements and

company standards. While some of these elements are described briefly in this

document, it is important that you consult the individual policies, procedures, and

other materials which form Elf Atochem’s HES programs to fully understand Elf

Atochem’s commitment.

Elf Atochem is committed to conducting its operations in a safe, responsible

manner, to minimizing emissions and wastes, and to reducing risks to health

and the environment. Compliance with all applicable legal requirements is

mandatory and is considered essential to upholding the company’s
