Continuing Education Program Set for the Coming Year.

Annual Conference Schedule Revised to Add Sessions, Subtract Formality

TEI's Continuing Education Committee has announced the Institute's continuing education calendar for the fiscal year that begins on July 1. In addition to two conferences, the schedule calls for four specialized seminars and five week-long courses.

The 2000-2001 schedule was released by Robert L. Ashby, who will become chair of TEI's Continuing Education Committee in August. Mr. Ashby called the schedule ambitious and said that the Institute continues, year after year, to offer top-notch and reasonably priced educational programs for its members and their staffs. "The vast majority of the educational programs the Institute offered this last year were oversubscribed," he noted. "Such a response demonstrates that TEI is the preferred provider of education for the corporate tax community."

Annual Conference Changes

The most significant change in the educational offerings for the next year is in the Annual Conference to be held October 21-25, 2000, in San Diego, California. Responding to member requests for additional technical sessions and more informal networking opportunities, the four-day conference will include more concurrent sessions and a Sunday night beach-style party in lieu of a formal banquet. TEI International President-designee Betty M. Wilson will kick of the program on Sunday afternoon with a description of her goals and objectives for the year. Monday morning will offer concurrent sessions on IRS administrative affairs, federal, and state and local tax, and a new Canadian session, followed by the traditional industry sessions in the afternoon.
