Construction has begun on 3rd phase of St. Anns Alley.

Construction has begun on the third and final phase of St. Anns Alley, a 34-unit, single-family development in West Columbia's River District.

Phase III will include the development's final 11 homes and one live-work unit. Construction has started on five homes and slated to begin on the remaining six within the next few months, according to a news release.

The third phase will feature a new model, the James II, with about 64 more square feet than the James. Other models include the Baldwin and the Jefferson.

"The additional square footage really provides options for the second bedroom upstairs, as it is almost as the large as master bedroom at the other end of the hall," developer Mark James said in the release.

St. Anns Alley is a project of Spring Street Partners, which includes James and fellow developers Tyler Baldwin and Joe Taylor. Mungo Construction of Irmo is the builder and Allison Ramsey Architects of Beaufort the designer.
