CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENTS

The International Association for Research in Income and Wealth (IARIW) is

pleased to announce the preliminary programs for three upcoming conferences.

36th IARIW GeneRAl ConfeRenCe

The 36th IARIW General Conference, organized in partnership with Statistics

Norway, was originally scheduled for August 2020 in Oslo, Norway. Because of

the pandemic, the conference was postponed one year and will now take place

as a virtual conference August 23- 27, 2021. The preliminary conference program

nary-program/. Statistics Norway is responsible for the on- line platform and for

IARIW- eSCoe ConfeRenCe on MeASuRInG IntAnGIble InveStMentS

In partnership with the UK Economics Statistics Centre of Excellence

(ESCoE), the IARIW is organizing the special conference “Measuring Intangible

Investments and Implications for Growth and Productivity”. The event will be held

in person in London, England November 11- 12, 2021. The objective of the confer-

ence is to bring together academics, statisticians, policymakers and other data users

interested in the measurement of intangibles to take forward an agenda for under-

standing the importance of these rapidly growing investments. The preliminary

IARIW- tnbS ConfeRenCe on InCoMe, WeAlth And Well- beInG In AfRICA

In partnership with the Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics (TNBS), the

IARIW is organizing the special conference “Measuring Income, Wealth and Well-

being in Africa” to be held in Arusha, Tanzania April 14- 16, 2022. The objec-

tive of this conference is to advance understanding on issues related to measuring

national accounts, prices, productivity, income and wealth distribution, poverty,

and, well- being in Africa through an examination of past experiences related

to the measurement of trends in these variables and the identification of future

measurement challenges. The preliminary program for the conference is posted at
