Concussions no worry for football fathers.

Despite the sports world's increasing awareness about concussion dangers, fathers remain comfortable sending their sons head first into possible danger on the football field, according to a survey of men who played tackle football at the high school level or higher with sons ages eight to 14. The survey was commissioned by the nonprofit arm of i9 Sports, Brandon, Fla., the country's first youth sports franchise.

The survey reveals:

* Nine out of 10 dads who played football at the high school level or higher and suffered, or believe they suffered, a football-related concussion want their kids to play tackle football.

* Seventy-seven percent of all football-playing fathers believe tackle football is safe for children under age 12 even though more than three in five of these man suffered a concussion on the gridiron.

* Almost half of football player dads say there is too much hype over concussions.
