Communications Task Force member update.

The Communications Task Force was established in September 2001 by ARMA International's Board of Directors. The task force--whose members include an ARMA Fellow, region manager, Canadian representative, chapter president, and a staff director--was charged with helping to develop an internal communications plan for the association that

* facilitates two-way communications between the association and its members

* promotes timely communication of information

* leverages the various communication vehicles available to ARMA

The plan, a summary of which is available online in the Governance & Administration area of the Member Resources section (www.arma.org/members), identifies various ways ARMA will disseminate information to members in a timely manner.

The task force presented its recommendations to the Board in April 2002. The Board approved the plan and asked the task force to continue its involvement another year. The main focus of the group was to help implement and monitor the success of the plan. Task force members, for example, have helped track traffic on the RECMGMT LISTSERV and member forum for any items that may require a response from ARMA. This approach has worked well over the past several months.
