FEI's Small and Mid-Sized Companies Task Force has recently formalized itself as a committee. The original task force was established in May 2005 after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) formed its Advisory Committee on Smaller Public Companies. The committee has since expanded to provide a voice for the interests of the small and mid-cap companies within FEI. It tracks developments impacting growth companies and forms FEI opinions on general matters relating to small and mid-size public companies through comment letters.

The committee has developed a "scope and duties" document to provide structure. With the scope and duties, its goals are: to provide input and oversight to the development of services to meet the needs of members of smaller public companies...
