At IFA, a commitment to our nation's veterans goes far beyond patriotism and corporate social responsibility. Our programs like VetFran from the IFA Foundation and our advocacy efforts open doors of opportunity for veterans and help them achieve the American dream of becoming entrepreneurs.

Our VetFran program partners with more than 630 franchisors to help veterans open franchise units by offering discounts and incentives to aspiring franchise owners who have served our country.

In Congress, IFA is advocating for the Veteran Entrepreneurs Act, which would lower up-front costs for veterans opening a franchise by cutting red tape and creating a tax credit to cover 25 percent of initial franchisee fees. Reps. Julia Brownley (D-CA) and Jackie Walorski (R-IN) are leading the charge on this bill, and both have worked closely with franchise brands, franchisees and veterans groups to ensure that the legislation addresses real needs.
